There’s a new program beginning this week that seeks to ensure that women in Missouri have better access to contraceptive services. Organizers of “The Right Time Initiative” say that deciding if, when, and under which circumstances to get pregnant helps women pursue the future they want. Michelle Trupiano says the campaign is not just about making sure women have affordable access to contraceptives.
The initiative involves a partnership with as many as 21 health centers over a six year period and involves training, technical assistance, and funding for contraceptives. It’s privately funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health.
