A Camden County deputy sheriff is recovering after being injured in a crash Friday evening. Deputy Casey Marks was responding to a domestic dispute when his cruiser collided with another vehicle on MM and rolled over. Marks was taken to Lake Regional complaining of a sore back before being transported to University Hospital in Columbia. Sheriff Tony Helms says it’s believed Marks may have suffered three compressed fractures in his vertebrae. It’s believed those will heal on their own and surgery will not be needed. He was expected to stay in the hospital overnight for observation. The driver of the other vehicle, 30-year old Danielle Borrett of Sunrise Beach, was taken to Lake Regional with minor injuries.
