An investigation remains underway after multiple shootings occur in Maries County overnight.
According to the Sheriff’s office, they first shooting occurred near First Street and Highway 28 in Belle, where several people were seen traveling in a tan truck and someone allegedly pointed a long gun out of the truck, firing at least one shot.
One person is now in custody in connection to that shooting.
A second shooting occurred at a farm just outside of town. The sheriff’s office says a homeowner fired shots into the woods after hearing people near his home. One of the bullets apparently struck the neighbor’s house.
They say the two incidents do not appear to be related at this time.
