A Sunday afternoon PWC explosion sinks the craft and sends an Iowa woman to Lake Regional Hospital. 13-year old Clayton Bentley of Newton, Iowa and 40 year old Karen Fulton of Clive, Iowa had just refueled their 1993 Polaris PWC at the 4 Mile Mark of the Gravois Arm. Bentley hit the ignition which caused a spark, causing an explosion and blowing the front cover and seat off of the PWC. The 13-year old remained on the PWC and suffered minor injuries. Fulton was ejected from the PWC and went airborne before landing back on the PWC and then entering the water. She suffered moderate injuries.
