John Q. Hammons Hotels and Resorts will be walking away from a stalled hotel project in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Gazette is reporting that the Springfield based hotelier will abandon completion of the 300 room, 11-story Renaissance hotel which began construction back in April of 2008. A mechanics lein filed by Flintco Incorporated of Tulsa, Oklahoma, the hotel’s general contractor, led to a foreclosure sale of the property back on October 20th. Hammons Hotels and Resorts has acquired land just south of the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach and has plans to build a multi-story Embassy Suites hotel and conference center.
