A State judge is saying that he will likely reject a legal challenge to a Constitutional Amendment that would link teacher evaluations to student performance. Opponents have attempted to strike the initiative from the November ballot alleging the measure contains multiple subjects and amends more than one part of the state’s constitution. Supporters argue it’s good for education as it limits tenure protections and requires things such as salaries, promotions and layoffs based largely on student performance. The Judge in the case indicated Thursday that he was leaning toward ruling in favor of those defending the ballot measure.
