Judge Orders June/July Tax Revenue Halted From TCLA

Two lake area counties are being asked to withhold revenue and tax money from the Lodging Tax Districts and the Tri-County Lodging Association.

The ruling handed down by a judge, requests the that the county collector in Camden and Miller hold the monies from June through July, until after a hearing on the case is completed.

The decision stems from a lawsuit filed against Camden and Miller counties, which states that commissioners in both counties were not making sure that board elections on the TCLA were certified by the clerk.

It also states that the TCLA elections were held by proxy voting and it was held in an off site non-governmental building in Osage Beach.

The hearing on this case is now set for August 18^th.
