Kansas Residents Seek Bond Reduction on Charges in Morgan County

Two Kansas residents seeking bond reductions on felony sex and drug-related charges are scheduled to be in a Morgan County courtroom today. Cassandra Wedeking, of Overland Park, and Carl Mort, of Shawnee Mission, both face one count of rape or attempted rape and three counts of possessing a controlled substance. Wedeking is also charged with three counts of sodomy or attempted sodomy while Mort also faces four counts of sodomy or attempted sodomy. The charges stem from an incident, or incidents, apparently happening in early July of 2019. Before the scheduled bond reduction hearings today, Wedeking was being held on a $100,000 bond while Mort was being held on a $150,000 bond.
