A nationally accredited child advocacy center with locations in Osage Beach, St. Robert and across 10 different counties in Missouri receives a much-needed financial boost. Kids’ Harbor Deputy Director Heather Durbin says the organization was recently approved for more than $224-thousand in tax credits through the state’s Neighborhood Assistance Program…a program designed to assist not-for-profits raise private-sector contributions for various community improvement projects. The need for Kids’ Harbor, according to Durbin, is evident based on the number of new referrals…698…in 2017 which was 14-percent higher than the previous year. Kids’Harbor provides services due to reports of abuse or trauma. They want to use the tax credit funds to create primary and secondary prevention programs and to supplement new and ongoing advocacy services.
