A pair of local organizations that serve women and children are breathing a bit of a sigh of relief that an agreement has been reached to end the partial government shutdown. Heather Durbin is the Deputy Director of Kids’ Harbor. She says they were watching the situation very closely.
Sheree Keely, Executive Director of CADV, said it would have been awhile before they were impacted, but the shutdown could have had indirect effects based on other area shelters.
A deal was announced Friday to end the shutdown for a three week period.
