A local child advocacy group is being praised for its role in helping investigators with a number of child abuse cases. The Miller County sheriff’s office has made three arrests in three cases of child abuse in the past two months with the assistance of kids harbor. According to a press release sent out yesterday, the sheriff’s office reports the arrest of Steven Walker on December 11th. Walker was charged with statutory sodomy in the first degree for abusing a four year old and is being held in the miller county jail on 500-thousand dollars bond. On December 30th, Shane Burris was charged with statutory sodomy in the first degree for the sexual abuse of a twelve year old and is being held on 300-thousand dollars bond. And Andrew Puckett faces charges of statutory sodomy in the first degree after detectives arrested him on January 8th. Puckett is suspected in a sexual abuse case involving a six year old and is being held on a 100-thousand dollars bond. According to the Miller County sheriff’s office, kids harbor, has played a key role in the investigations of 152 cases of child abuse in the last three years.
