Knowing your first responders could save your life. That was certainly the case in a recent incident involving the Northwest Fire Protection District. Board member Michael Cundiff says it began with a call from his neighbor’s wife at about 10:30 at night.
Cundiff called 9-1-1 and the Chief and other first responders arrived on scene in minutes. The patient was taken to a pickup point where he could be flown to Columbia. Cundiff says, especially in their district, it’s a comfort to the people they serve to know they’re available.
Residents of the district have a chance to get to know them even better….they’re having a garage sale at station 2 May 18th and a bbq bash at station 4 June 8th.
