Koster has told the television provider that they are in violation of a July 2009 voluntary compliance agreement after they dropped FOX Sports Midwest, FOX Sports Kansas City, FX, and the National Geographic Channel.
Koster says that many DISH Network subscribers entered into contracts that promised the channels and since they have been removed there has been no reduction in the monthly rate.
In a letter to the company, Koster asked dish to tell their subscribers that they may cancel their service without paying a cancellation fee. Koster also asks DISH to refund money in the same proportion to the company’s cost of providing the service. The state attorney general says that DISH’s attempt to provide compensation in the form of alternative channels is insufficient and doesn’t alter the fact that they are in violation of Missouri law and the 2009 agreement.
