Attorney General Chris Koster is joining the chorus of elected officials asking the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to reconsider its changes to Ameren Missouri’s Shoreline Management Plan.
According to the Lake Sun, Koster sent a letter to FERC, asking that they revise their order to allow a reasonable solution for dealing with non-conforming structures that takes into consideration the economic impact their changes will have. Koster says many of the lakefront structures that face removal were in existence before any formal permitting process was put in place. Ameren has requested time to move their boundary and grandfather some structures before the new waterfront requirements take effect. A rehearing on the matter is pending.
