Lake Ozark City Attorney Roger Gibbons will be sitting down with Lake Ozark City Administrator Dave Van Dee to discuss a contract.
Mayor Johnnie Franzeskos spoke after a special hour long closed session meeting last night.
“The board authorized the city attorney to discuss, negotiate with the city administrator a new contract to be brought before the board,” says Franzeskos.
A motion was made in closed session to start negotiations. That was approved five to one. One issue is Van Dee’s severance package, 9 months of guaranteed pay upon termination, which totals about $50,000. The board twice approved the contract unanimously, once last august and once in March after a technicality. Mayor Franzeskos says the city may see the contract at their next regular board meeting next Tuesday.
“This contract is up August 17th so I don’t know whether we’re going to have a special meeting or they’re going to get with whenever Roger can get this written up.”
