A rate increase is on the way for Laclede Electric Cooperative members. Starting April 20th, there will be a four dollar addition to the Service Availability Charge for all residential and commercial accounts. The Service Availability Charge is a fixed, flat fee designed to cover the basic cost of delivering electricity to members’ locations. It covers some of the expenses the Cooperative incurs regardless of how much electricity is sold. The last rate increase for Laclede Electric members was in May of 2009.
