A car dealer from Laclede County will spend up to the next 18 months in a federal prison. 62 year old Kenneth Smith received the sentence after a June guilty plea for mail fraud. Smith dealt cars from Cars Unlimited in Lebanon and bought used cars at auctions. After buying the cars, he then got new titles from the state after lying about the mileage on the vehicles, raising the value. He admitted to doing this to over 50 vehicles, selling them for a total of nearly $350,000. Along with the sentence, he was also ordered to pay a fine of $50,000.
