A Lake Area Alderman is calling it quits after 10 years of service to his community. Ron Schmitt served on the Board in Osage Beach for 10 years, stating he began at the same time as Mayor John Olivarri. He decided during the last election cycle that was long enough and didn’t file for re-election. Since moving to the Lake in 1997, Schmitt has served his city in numerous positions, including Commissioner of the Special Road District, Joint Sewer Board Representative, and Board of Aldermen President. He says that it was an absolute honor and privilege to serve his community as Alderman and he will continue to volunteer in numerous aspects to improve Osage Beach.
