Memorial Day weekend at the Lake getting national attention in the wake of COVID 19
Viral video making the rounds on national media, showing patrons at area bars and restaurants, celebrating like it was a normal party weekend.
John Custer of Four Seasons Property Management. He Tells KRMS News all of his rental homes were filled with vacationers who want to get out after being cooped up for so long.
Custer says the video only shows a fraction of the tourists this weekend. Many of his guests say they stay on the water or inside the homes the rented, just to get away from it all.
He also says despite the negative issues there, it’s an overall positive as many lake businesses depend on this revenue to remain open. That’s because the lake only gets 3 to 4 months to make their income, as a opposed to year round places like St. Louis or Kansas City.
Here’s a look at the video that was first posted to Twitter by CBS reporter Scott Pasmore of Arizona.
