The Lake Area is put on notice, once again, that any kind of open burning…until further notice…can be a risky venture. Temperatures pushing into, at least, the 70’s will combine over the next few days with lower humidity and prevailing winds making it a dangerous time to do open burning. Lake Area fire districts have been stretched pretty thin so far over the early spring season when it comes to responding to natural cover fires…many of which have either destroyed or damaged different structures or put them into danger. If you do any open burning, you are strongly encouraged to have a water source nearby just in case it gets away from you. It’s also suggested that you call your local fire district first before doing any open burning just to make sure it’s safe enough to do so. The next chance of rain in our forecast comes in the middle of this next week.
