Lake Area Realtor Sets World Powerboating Record In California

A Lake of the Ozarks woman is gaining national attention after setting a World Record in Powerboating.

Realtor Leigh Ann Baumanin and her Co-Pilot Chris Reindl set a record time of 1 hour, 57 minutes and 40 seconds at the Union Internationale Motoautique race around Catalina Island near Hunting Beach California.

Officials say their 24-foot Reindl Powerboat averaged around 84 Miles an hour, with a top speed of 129 miles an hour around the 112-mile course.

In a release, Reindl said that Leigh Ann did a “fantastic job” and they’re proud to establish a new Rum Run Ocean Cup record.
