Still in the wake of the Parkland, Florida, school massacre, it’s a case of wait-and-see whether any students in the Lake Area plan to take part in two proposed national walkouts. Camdenton Superintendent Doctor Tim Hadfield says he has not heard of any students planning to take part but, at the same time, also says they are welcome to make their voices heard.
Doctor Hadfield goes on to say, statistically, a school campus is one of the safest places for kids to be but vigilance has to play a key role in keeping it that way. Students and staff in the Laker Nation will take part in the spring in what’s referred to as “ALICE” training…an acronym for alert, lockdown, inform, counter and evacuate. The two national student walkouts are planned for March 14th and March 24th.
