Lake Area Veterans Can Get Assistance This Saturday At Prewitt’s Point

Veterans in the lake area who need assistance due to unemployment because of the COVID-19 pandemic will have a place to turn this Saturday.

The Miller County VFW Post-2442 will be set up in the Prewitt’s Point Shopping Center, next to Target, to allow veterans a chance to meet with representatives from the post, a veteran service officer and the Missouri State VFW Commander.

The Miller County post has approved $20-thousand to assist area veterans over the next six months. That unemployment assistance is available to any veterans across Miller, Camden and Morgan counties.

To qualify, you will be required to present a military service release document or a valid military ID card or a VA-ID card.

The Miller County post will also accept donations from the public to help offset the costs of the assistance.
