Lake Of The Ozarks Is Shattering Tourism Records For 2020

The lake of the Ozarks is setting records for tourism this year.

Speaking with Christian Blood on the Ozarks Today, Lake Ozark Mayor Jerry Murawski says they’re coming from all over the US.

Murawski says he’s been taking data on the number of visitors coming to the Lake since the area opened up, and it’s unreal.

Murawski says those numbers beat out any previous records by far and the season isn’t over yet.

There are still 2 major events and a number of holiday’s left, including the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, Bikefest and Labor Day weekend.

 

In total the mayor says that there have been (so far) 9.13 Million visitors, compared to 2019’s 5.9 Million overall. He says they continue to have shortages of houses available on the market and boats in area dealerships. People from all over the United States have been visiting, some for the first time. Murawski says that includes people from Texas, Utah, Florida, South Dakota and many more. Area rentals continue to report record sellouts and area restaurants have been packed, despite running at 50% capacity for safety reasons.
