The Lake Ozark Board of Alderman met Tuesday night in regular session. Newly elected officials were sworn in during the meeting and the Board also passed a Bill allowing the City’s Chief of Police to promote an officer within the department, passed a resolution dispensing with the required “notice of competitive bidding” and authorized the police department to purchase new vehicles thru direct solicitation of bids from dealers. The Board also approved the purchase of two new 2015 Ford Interceptor police vehicles and passed a Bill revoking a previously approved contract with Vandevanter Engineering.
The Lake Ozark Board of Alderman approved several event applications during Tuesday night’s meeting. The Magic Dragon Street Nationals hosted by the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will once again be coming to the Bagnell Dam Strip May 1st thru the 3rd. There was some discussion regarding “burn out marks” left on the strip last year which is believed to have taken place after official hours. The Chamber provides each participant with the “Golden Rules” which clearly state such activities will not be tolerated. Other events approved by the Board include the Kiwanis 5k Run for the Beach April 18th, Kiwanis Peanut Day May 22nd, Hot Summer Nights every second Friday of the month beginning May 8th and the Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance Lake Race on May 30th.
