A local police department should have body cameras by the end of the month. Lake Ozark Chief Gary Launderville says they’ve been ordered and, although they’re currently on backorder, he plans to have them operational as quickly as possible. He also says the additional hard drive space needed to efficiently support them has been installed at the department. During last night’s aldermen meeting, they held the first reading of a bill to amend the department’s operational guidelines to include a policy on how the body cameras are to be worn and how the data obtained will be used. The second reading will be held at their next meeting on February 28th.
