A Lake Ozark man is seriously injured in a five-vehicle chain-reaction accident including three 18-wheelers on westbound Interstate-70 in Montgomery County. The highway patrol says it happened at the 181-mile marker just after 6:45 Wednesday evening when a big rig rear-ended a car pushing it into a second 18-wheeler. The first semi then continued on striking and pushing a small U-Haul box truck into a tanker truck. The driver of the U-Haul truck, 48-year-old Bradley Pingel of Lake Ozark, was seriously hurt and taken to a St. Louis hospital. The driver of the semi that, allegedly, started the whole sequence of events, a 37-year-old from Imperial, was also hurt. He was treated for minor injuries.
