Lake Ozark Nixes Rezoning, Approves Use of Eminent Domain

There won’t be a new quarry in Lake Ozark anytime soon….at least not at a proposed location off of Highway 54.  The Lake Ozark Board of Aldermen has voted to uphold the recommendation by the Planning & Zoning Commission to deny a rezoning request that could have cleared the way for Magruder Limestone to quarry across the highway from Rick’s C-Store.  The city also may be moving forward with plans to use eminent domain.  The board passed second reading of a measure authorizing the seizure of land necessary to construct an all-weather access road to their lift station in Twin Oaks.
