Body cameras have become an essential tool for law enforcement nationwide. They don’t come without paying a hefty price, however. Lake Ozark Chief Gary Launderville said they would cost around $15,000 for his department. They received a $10,000 grant to go toward the cause and then went around asking for donations. He says they finally reached their goal, thanks to a $1,000 donation from the Fraternal Order of Police in Osage Beach.
Chief Launderville also says, however, he has learned that while they have enough for the body cameras they now need a little more for extra memory for their server.
