Lake Ozark Woman Among Two Dead After Trying to Rescue a Puppy

Two people are dead, including a Lake Ozark woman, who both drowned while trying to save a puppy which fell into Lindley Creek in Dallas County.

The highway patrol says it happened early Friday evening.

45-year-old Richard Berthiaume, of Buffalo, went into the creek to try retrieving the puppy and was followed in by 53-year-old Tina Lewis, of Lake Ozark, who was trying to help.

Both, Lewis and Berthiaume, drowned and were pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

There was no indication on whether the puppy made it or not.
