Parking and transportation arrangements are coming together for this year’s Lake Race. As has been the case in the past, the lower end of Bagnell Dam Boulevard will close down at 9am on Friday of race weekend. That encompasses the area from Blondie’s to the dam. Traffic coming off the dam will be detoured onto Valley Road. They’ll be setting up the racers’ village, which opens to the public at 5pm.
Mike Shepherd says they’ll have shuttles running on race day Saturday, as well. On race day, you won’t be able to drive across the dam. They shut that down early Saturday for spectators.
Tomorrow we’ll tell you about the restrictions for those watching the race from the water.
