Some employees at Lake Regional Health System got together recently to celebrate what they do on a regular basis. They observed National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week. The week focuses on the role that rehabilitation plays in reducing effects of heart disease. The employees and patients in the rehab program held drawings for prizes for people attending their exercise sessions and also exchanged heart-healthy recipes. Lake Regional’s cardiac rehab program consists of three phases and includes monitoring by registered nurses, an exercise physiologist, and a registered dietician.
