Sit back, relax, and take a DEEP breath. It’s not as easy as it sounds for some people…and that’s where a group of employees at Lake Regional comes in. They are celebrating Pulmonary Rehab Week, recognizing the importance that it has in enhancing the quality of life for those with chronic lung disease. That includes those with COPD, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and more. Cardiopulmonary Rehab Manager Jody Corpe says rehab exercises can reduce respiratory symptoms including shortness of breath and fatigue, while also improving muscle strength. That gives the patients more endurance to perform tasks that used to be more challenging. All week long, employees are observing different themes each day and will hold drawings for door prizes for patients that attend their scheduled sessions.
