Residents wishing to use the Express Care facility at Lake Regional Hospital will have to find an alternate place.

Officials say they’re temporarily shutting down their Osage Beach facility starting this morning.

The employees working there are being shifted to other clinics in the community, including Camdenton, Eldon and Lebanon.

Lake Regional says the location is not big enough for separate seating for well and unwell patients and they are working to make adjustments for that issue.

The facility will remain closed until a solution is reached.

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Beginning Wednesday, June 1, operations will pause at Lake Regional Express Care – Osage Beach to help address staffing shortages in the walk-in clinics. Employees currently working in the Osage Beach location will transfer to other Lake Regional clinics, including Express Care locations in Camdenton, Eldon or Lebanon to help ensure those clinics are staffed appropriately to treat the increasing number of customers seeking care.

Health system leaders will take this opportunity to consider other needed changes to ensure the walk-in clinics meet customer expectations.

“Express Care is a popular service for our Osage Beach community that we plan to continue,” said Kevin McRoberts, FACHE, CEO of Lake Regional Health System. “We want to provide a great patient experience every time. Yet, staffing pressures have made it difficult to keep this location open consistently. Rather than continue to strain our staff, we are making the decision to pause operations at the Osage Beach location, fill staffing gaps in other clinics and rethink how we can provide this service in Osage Beach in the future.”

In addition to staffing concerns, the Osage Beach clinic is the only Express Care location that shares a waiting area with primary care.

“The existing Osage Beach clinic is not large enough to accommodate completely separate waiting areas for sick and well-visit patients,” McRoberts said. “This issue intensified during the past two years as COVID caused spikes in Express Care visits. It’s one factor we will consider as we reimagine how best to offer this service in the future.”

All four Express Care locations will be open throughout Memorial Day weekend, including Monday, May 30. Visit to view clinic hours and a list of conditions treated.
