Lake Regional Health System continues their campaign to improve education and resources for mental health treatment this week. Mental health has been identified as the number one health need in the tri-county area. Billye Bennett appeared on “The Ozarks Today” and says they’ve crafted a three-year action plan to address that need.
They’ve also conducted a mental health first aid for youth program with a second course scheduled for this weekend. May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month and one in five adults has some form of mental health issue. As for the awareness days, they’ll be held this Thursday from 9-1 at the Camden County Library, May 6th from 10-2 at the Eldon Community Center, and May 16th 3-7pm at the Morgan County Health Department.
