We recently told you that Lake Regional’s Stroke Program was recognized nationally for their job performance. They’ve maintained their status as a Level II stroke center for meeting or exceeding national standards. Stroke Coordinator Crystal Lloyd says that makes them an important part of the state’s Time Critical Diagnosis, or TCD system.
That means patients experiencing stroke symptoms will be re-routed to Lake Regional to get quick care.
The Elite Plus award received by Lake Regional recognizes the measures they’ve taken to reduce the amount of time from a patient’s arrival to the time they receive tPA treatment to break up stroke-causing clots.
