There’s no ramping up to the season for the Lake West Chamber of Commerce. They’re diving right in with a full slate of events over the coming weeks. After a visit to the St. Charles Boat Show, they hit the water at top speed with their St. Patrick’s Day water parade and short bus shuffle, followed by the business expo and Cabela’s KingKat tournament. Executive Director Paul Hooper says a fast start is important for a successful season.

Both cruise boats for the water parade are sold out. Hooper says they’ll also fill the buses for the shuffle, and with groups who provide their own transportation, he says it’s impossible to really calculate how many people will participate – other than to say the number is easily in the hundreds.
