The Landowner Protection Act could be introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives today. The legislation would amend the Federal Power Act and stop the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from removing any structure from the Lake of the Ozarks unless a structure was knowingly built in a restricted area.
Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler will introduce the bill in the house after questioning the role of FERC last Friday.
Ninth District Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer has already pledged his support. Hartzler expects full bipartisan backing.
The same legislation was introduced by senators Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill last week in the U.S. Senate.
