The Laurie Board of Alderman on Tuesday (9) did what many cities and towns around the Lake are doing, throwing their support for House Bill 1960, sponsored by Representative Diane Franklin. The bill if approved, would split the merger of the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Water Patrol into two separate entities. In other business from Tuesday (9), the board approved the hiring of three positions, one for the Sewer Department and a Full-time and Part-time maintenance employee. The board also discussed the current water and sewer rates.
