A Kansas City man is facing gun and drug charges after an arrest by the Laurie Police. Chief Mark Black says his department initiated a traffic stop Saturday after observing a truck weave across the center line several times. The driver, identified as Raphael Rodriguez, Jr., was allegedly sweating profusely and the officer was able to smell alcohol. Upon further investigation, police found a substance believed to be cocaine, in the vehicle, along with over a pound of marijuana and handgun. Rodriguez is a convicted felon and therefore is prohibited from owning or possessing a gun. He was taken to the Morgan County jail charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a weapon.
