What began locally as a way to say “thanks” to police officers has grown into a national event. Thursday was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. It was started in Camdenton by the C.O.P.S. organization in 2015 and Sara Slone says they’re overwhelmed by the response they saw.
One of the events held yesterday was a Blue Blood drive where people donated blood in honor of law enforcement officers. Slone said that, too, was a huge success.
Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is observed every January 9th.
