State lawmakers are looking to pass ethics reform during the upcoming legislative session. However, some are skeptical. 28 bills have been filed addressing ethics laws which currently allow limitless lobbyist spending on gifts and campaign contributions. Some political scientists are skeptical about meaningful reform following years of failure. Legislation has been introduced in the past but hasn’t gone far.
