The city of Lake Ozark is accused of hiding information and failing to comply with state open records laws. In a lawsuit filed in Miller County, Victoria Sutton and Rosemary Laramore allege that the city intentionally and repeatedly ignored open records requests. Sutton and Laramore are locked in a dispute over the possible use of eminent domain to take property near the Twin Oaks pump station – a move the city contends they need to make in order to build an access road and come into compliance with a sanitary sewer consent judgment. The suit alleges 19 violations and names the city, Custodian of Records Kathy Vance, and former Custodian of Records Kimberly Baker as defendants.
