A Missouri death row inmate is scheduled to be put to death just after midnight tonight (Tuesday). However, his attorney says the state is about to execute an innocent man. John Middleton is scheduled to die for a 1995 murder. Middleton was a meth dealer in northern Missouri and was convicted for killing three people out of fear they would snitch to police. He was sentenced to death for the third murder. A witness came forward in February suggesting that two other men were the real killers. Harrison County Sheriff Josh Eckerson disagrees and after revisiting the case concluded that Middleton was in fact the killer.
