The City of Lebanon made a very tight yet significant vote at their meeting recently that could have impacts in the Lake area. According to reports, Lebanon’s Mayor Lyle Anderson was the one who broke a tied vote during the council’s meeting to put in an ordinance that addresses labor unions and collective bargaining procures for city employees. Previously the vote had been tabled to allow an attorney from the International Union of Police Associations to review ordinance. This was due in part of some members of the Lebanon Police Department voting back in January to become members of the Union. Now that the Lebanon police have begun this process, it is wondered if the other area officers would take it to their city councils.
