A Washington state man was beaten by a surprised homeowner when the man was found standing outside a girl’s bedroom in the early morning hours of Friday. Joseph Stein, 26, of Spokane, Wash., is charged with a Class B misdemeanor of trespass in the first degree. Lebanon police officers responded at 3:12 a.m. to a home in the 1500 block of Prosser Lane for a burglary in progress. Dispatch advised officers that the suspect had been detained by the homeowners. Upon arrival officers reported stein’s face was “covered” in blood and his right eye was swollen shut. Emergency medical services were called to the scene to treat Stein. According to the homeowner, a 32-year-old Lebanon man, he was sleeping in his bedroom and saw his 6-year-old daughter’s bedroom light switched on. He looked up and saw Stein standing outside his daughter’s doorway. The man jumped out of bed and hit Stein repeatedly in the face. He threw him out his backdoor until police could arrive.
