If you normally travel Route-54 between the Lake Area and Jefferson City, you are being advised that traffic will be slow-going for various bridge repair work over the next several months. MoDOT says the work, weather permitting, is scheduled to begin next Monday, the 10th, on the westbound bridge of Little Gravois Creek just west of Route-V. During the work, traffic will be reduced to one lane around the clock through the end of October. Other bridges included in the overall work include: the westbound and eastbound bridges over Wrights Creek, Business Route-54 and Old Tuscumbia Road along with eastbound bridge over the Rock Island Railroad east of Route-87 and Route-17 over Route-54. Once the work over Little Gravois Creek is done, the project will shift northward to the bridges over Wrights Creek. The entire project, including nine bridges, is expected to be finished by the end of June 2019.
