Lengthy Improvement Project on 54 Begins Monday

What is shaping up to be a lengthy improvement project along Highway 54 is scheduled to begin next week. MoDot says construction is scheduled to get underway Monday in both the east and westbound lanes. They’ll start by installing guardrails guard cables. The second phase of the project will include pavement improvements and will begin in a few weeks. The work is taking place from the Stadium Boulevard intersection in Jefferson City all the way to the Miller County line. Motorists should expect intermittent day and overnight lane closures in both directions, allow extra travel time, and slow down through the work zone. The entire project should be completed by November 1st.
