Two of three so-called stacked taxes have been approved by Linn Creek voters. Mayor Jack Thornhill is pleased with the outcome of the vote. He says, quote, “We’re certainly grateful to get the final two parts of the stacked taxes, it’ll make a big difference to the city. Linn Creek voters agreed to a half-cent sale tax hike for capital improvements in the November 2010 general election. That was the first of the three. Thornhill said the city should start seeing an increase in tax revenue from the first part of the stacked tax passed last year within a month or two. The new stacked taxes will be used for capital improvements, transportation and the general fund to benefit the police department.
