Lake Ozark Fire Protection District bond issue which is partly in Miller County and Partly in Camden County was not passed.
The issue was should the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District issue its general obligation bond in the amount of $5.35 million for the purpose of acquiring fire protection and fire fighting equipment.
There was also intent to staff the North Shore station full time to cut down on response time to residents in that area. Asst. Fire Chief Matt Birdsley thanks the voters in the district who came out for the bond.
To clarify the earlier reports, the bond did lose in Camden County 186 to 167 but won in Miller County to make the total 319 yea to 287 nay. That does not mean it will be enacted. The results needed to be a 57% margin to be passed and it was not.
Chief Birdsley will be in during the 9 o clock hour to discuss the decision further on the morning magazine.
